Origin

Native Neon Tetras come from the Amazon Basin in South America, especially Colombia, Peru, and Brazil.

Temperament

• Peaceful and community-friendly
• Schooling fish — keep at least 6–10 together
• Active mid-water swimmers
• Best with other small peaceful fish

Good tank mates:

• Corydoras
• Rasboras
• Small Gouramis
• Shrimp (large adults are usually safe)
