• Trigonostigma hengeli

Origin

• Southeast Asia
• Found in Indonesia (Sumatra, Borneo)
• Lives in blackwater streams, peat swamps, and slow forest waters

Appearance

• Small slender body (2–3 cm / 0.8–1.2 inches)
• Bright orange-gold stripe along the body
• Distinct black triangular wedge near the tail
• Semi-transparent fins
• Very active schooling swimmer

Temperament

• Extremely peaceful
• Strong schooling behavior (keep 8–12+ for best display)
• Best for calm community aquariums
• Not aggressive at all

• Neon Tetras
• Ember Tetras
• Corydoras
• Small Gouramis
• Shrimp (usually safe with adults)

Minimum Tank Size

• 10–15 gallons (better in longer tanks)

• Soft, slightly acidic water preferred
