- Common Name: Red Peacock Cichlid
- Adult Size: 4–6 inches (10–15 cm)
- Life Expectancy: 5–8 years, up to 10 with excellent care
- Habitat: Native to Lake Malawi, Africa; wild types are found in sandy-bottomed, rocky shorelines in clear, warm, alkaline water. The red variety is a captive-bred hybrid, not found in the wild.
